The Wild Beer Co
Pale Ale - 4,2% ABV
Hibble Bibble, Drink and Dribble..
Today's beer is another one from Wild Beer Co down in Somerset.
It's called Bibble which means to 'drink regularly' down in that neck of the woods. As this beer is their "everyday beer" I think the name fit's well.
I'm expecting a light and easy drinking Pale Ale with some nice hoppy flavours and dryness. At 4.2% this is going to be perfect to drink in a session. Let's see how it tastes?
To the fridge...
In The Glass:
A lovely sun kissed deep orange colour. Very murky due to being unfined, with a white head that disperses pretty quickly .
On The Nose:
Scents of citrus and pine come flying out of the glass, fresh from the Mosaic and Amarillo hops that are deep in the heart of this dank tasting Pale Ale.
Hoppy and bitter, exactly like we could predict from the smell but with little fizz - literally!
My can was pretty flat and the lack of carbonation just meant that the lovely dank flavours tended to just fade away. You could pick up the tropical fruit and orange notes but they tended to follow the beer as it disappeared down your throat with no fizz or significant body to carry them and keep the party alive.
It's very easy drinking but I was hoping for a little more bang from this Wild beer. I'm so used to the sourness that they are famous for and it's a shame that this Pale Ale doesn't have any of that kick or zest about it.
Don't get me wrong, in its own right, it's fine and in fact, quite pleasant to drink. I guess it just wasn't what I expected to taste from Wild Beer.
A decent enough Pale Ale but it could use some more mojo imho
